Painter, illustrator, sculptor; my work examines human environments, combining landscape and portraiture.
I want to make art to live with; works that you can see more in the more time you spend with them. I aim to leave enough room for the viewer to interpret and imagine, but most of all I would like people to come away from looking at my artworks feeling a bit more optimistic, and maybe feeling a little bit more... human? It's a lot to ask of the skills I have! But it's enough to keep me trying.
Hang on... Is that it?

SO CLOSE, BUT NO CIGAR!
Open Exhibitions attract thousands of applicants, with only around 100-200 artworks being displayed in the final hang. As an example: the 2018 Columbia Threadneedle Prize had 4000 digital entries, 700 of which were invited to submit their work for a review by a panel of selectors in the flesh, only 104 of which were then chosen for exhibition.
It has felt like an achievement getting through the first round of the selection process for the following exhibitions:
Royal Society of British Artists, Mall Galleries, 2018
National Open Art, 2017
New English Art Club, Mall Galleries, 2017
Royal West of England Academy - ‘Drawn’, 2017
Columbia Threadneedle Prize, Mall Galleries, 2016
